UHP Peer Mentor: Theresa Gilbertson

Hello! My name is Theresa Gilbertson. I'm a fourth year Anthropology with a minor in Religious Studies. This will be my second year as a Peer Mentor. I'm from Redlands, California. I love film and television and spent an inordinate amount of time enjoying and studying these mediums. I love science fiction and art, history and world music, traveling abroad and living in the moment.

I spent this past year studying abroad in Scotland, UK, with the UC's awesome program, Education Abroad. I was able to live on my own in a foreign country, meet other international students, study with the locals, and travel across Europe. It was an amazing experience. I'm happy to be back in the States and to share this year at UCR with all of you.

If anyone is interested, I'm thinking about starting an Honors soccer team for the Intramural sports run by our Rec Center. I played my entire freshman year and it was a lot of fun. I'm also always looking for new community service opportunities and am looking forward to getting more involved this year.

If any of you are interesting in studying abroad, either for a short summer program, a semester, or an entire year, please feel free to talk to me! I would love to share my experiences or give advice or just listen to your plans and ideas. This is a great website to get you started: http://www.eap.ucop.edu/
