UHP Peer Mentor: Rayek Nafiz

My name is Rayek Nafiz, and I am a second year Biological Sciences major. Quite possibly, I will soon be a double major with Religious Studies as my second. I’m originally from Bangladesh, where I spent my first ten years, and since then I have lived all over California. I attended Redlands High School before coming to UCR.

In addition to the Honors program, I’m also involved with the Clinical Care Extenders program at Riverside Community Hospital. I plan to go to medical school after finishing up my undergraduate studies, and if you plan to do the same I recommend that you apply to the program- it will give you great exposure to the hospital setting!

When I’m not busy with the academics, I enjoy playing basketball and badminton. In fact, I plan to play intramural basketball (or I already do as you are reading this). I am also involved with the Muslim Student Union here on campus.

I love meeting people, especially incoming freshmen, I‘ve met over 125 of 2011ers already! If you have ANY questions about UCR or Honors feel free to holler through rnafi001@student.ucr.edu. I’ll see you around!
