UHP Peer Mentor: Perveen Chattha

My name is Perveen Chattha, if your curious about my name it means "a group of stars". I love learning about other cultures and life-styles. I also have an overactive imagination, dream way too much, and love to laugh. Other than that I am just a regular person who loves to work-out, watch tv, spend time with my friends and family, travel, and eat some good old homecookin! I was born and raised in Holland, Michigan and have lived in Chino Hills, CA for 7 years now. I am in my second year majoring in Biological sciences w/ an emphases in Biomedical sciences. What to do when your not studying hard or fighting crime...community service!

I've tried several things this year but I really enjoyed Corazon de Vida, an organization that visits orphanages in Mexico. It is totally a relaxing and uplifting experience, the kids always have a blast and you will too. Also conversation partners, which operates from the Learning Center, it's a great way to help international students practice their spoken english and learn more about other cultures. It's also great networking, most of the students are T.A's.
