UHP Peer Mentor: Naubahar Agha

Hey! My name is Naubahar Agha, and I’m a third year Bioengineering Major. You can call me Naub, Naubs, Nauby, anything you're comfortable with (I also respond to Spider-man). I'm originally from Pakistan and moved here when I was in the 6th grade. I am involved in quite a lot of things on Campus, so if you are involved or attend certain programs set up by various departments on Campus, you might see my name around. I work at the Learning Center as an SI Leader for Biology. I also work at the Counseling Center as a StressBuster as well as a Biofeedback Technician. I am working with the Women's Resource Center in the Campus Safety Escort Service (which is a WONDERFUL Community Service Opportunity since you will all be needing it). Also, I have my own club on campus! It's called Hike To the C! and it's just growing but I have a lot of stuff planned. We hike up to the giant letter C on top of the Box Springs Mountains and enjoy the view. We also take trashbags up and clean up the trail and the surrounding area of the C. It's our little way of giving back to the wonderful sight-seeing and breathtaking experience that is the C. If you would like to join us then contact me and I'll let you know when we go up! It's also a great community service opportunity!

Besides all this, I work very closely with the Bourns College of Engineering. I am an Ambassador for the COE, which means I represent the College in any event or organized outing that occurs within the college, or throughout the entire UCR. Also, I am the Vice President of the Bourns College of Engineering Leadership Council. Last but not least, I am the President of our very own UCR Chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society [BMES]. It's a wonderful organization for anyone interested in that major/field or even if anyone's curious! Once again, contact me if you'd like to find out more!

Enough advertising, me myself, I consider myself an interesting person. I may not be very outgoing but I love to just sit around and hang out or talk, basically just chill. I am obsessed with Spider-Man, not just the movies, EVERYTHING, including comic story line, all the good classic stuff. I love to watch cartoons all the time and do stupid childish things that a lot of people don't really enjoy anymore. My main goal, is to design robotic prosthetics that can move and respond to thought (possibly feel as well). I love helping people out, especially if anyone is curious, knows absolutely nothing and is too embarrassed to find out information about something they THINK they should know. That’s completely fine because I'm like that too. Hit me up if you ever need anything, any questions, comments, concerns, or complaints! I'm always available, I practically live in front of my laptop screen so I'm always reachable by email or IM or phone. Any way you can get a hang of me, Go ahead!
