UHP Peer Mentor: Lyn Stephenson
Hello, Hello!
My name’s Carolyn Stephenson, but I go by Lyn. I’m a second year Creative Writing major at UCR, and I’m hoping on adding something else as well, though I’m not sure what. I love the arts, all of them. I’m involved with the orchestra at UCR, and I sew in my free time. I also love (big surprise) reading and writing. I’m almost always talking about some new book I found, or some new band, or some new project. Lessee….I play the Flute, Piccolo, Saxophone, Trombone, and Drums, and I’m thinking about learning Guitar. I love going to museums, or looking at old manuscripts, or watching artsy movies.
Through UCR I hope to study abroad in Spain with a languages program next summer. I’m kinda obsessed with Southern and Eastern Europe, though. Ask me about Romania! I’ve been there twice.
After UCR I hope to pursue a Master’s of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, and then
either teach, or somehow write full time.
Looking for Community Service?
One of the best things about UCR is the amount of clubs. I am personally involved in two clubs, Voice of Invisible Children, and Corazon De Vida. Corazon De Vida is a wonderful way to fulfill your community service requirements, and it’s tons of fun. You’ll see me on almost every trip!
