UHP Peer Mentor: Kevin Izquierdo

Hey guys! I'm Kevin Izquierdo and I'm a second year Biological Sciences major. I'm from Rancho Cucamonga, California and I've called it home since I was two years old. I've played trumpet for nine years in wind ensembles and jazz ensembles and I'm currently trying to teach myself piano. I enjoy basketball, tennis, dancing, and anything random. I have a strange fetish for highlighters. My plans are to attend medical school to become an oncologist or a cardiologist. If you Pre-Med cats have any questions about anything that has to do with medical school, just write me an e-mail at kizqu001@ucr.edu and I should be able to point you in the right direction.

Looking for Community Service?

Best Buddies is a non-profit organization who's mission is to enhance the lives of peers with intellectual disabilities by providing one-on-one friendships. You can attend bimonthly events as an Associate Member, or you can be paired up with someone with an intellectual disability. As a paired buddy, your responsibility would be to call your buddy weekly and hang out with them at least twice a month. Best Buddies is service that doesn't feel like service. It is truly rewarding.
