UHP Peer Mentor: Jessica Yamane

Hello All!

First off, welcome to the truly fine institution of UCR! This university is an amazing place to pursue your education. In being a part of Honors, you’re already taking a giant step forward towards making the most of your college experience. If you can’t already tell, I love our school. In addition to being a peer mentor for honors, I am also a Program Coordinator in A&I and I’d love to get to know you better if we see each other in the Residence Halls.

In addition to UCR, I love running. Last summer, I ran my first marathon and am looking into running another one in 2008…I’d love a training buddy any takers? I’m also a black belt in karate and I’ve been playing basketball for as long as I can remember…my dream is to one day be able to dunk! Okay, that’s not going to happen but there are other goals I know I can pursue such as…qualifying for the Boston Marathon, backpacking through Europe, joining the Peace Corps…and helping you in having the best first year possible. I believe in dreaming big and the first step towards a great first year is envisioning yourself as successful. Good luck everyone and you know where to find me!

“To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.” -Steve Prefontaine
