UHP Peer Mentor: Jessica Cade
Hey
guys!!! I'm Jessica Cade. I'm a third year Biological Sciences Major on the
Bioinformatics and Genomics track. (That's a whole lot of complicated words
meaning that I'm interested in Genetics) I'm not entirely sure where I want to
go with my degree, but most likely teaching or research. This will be my second
year as a Peer Mentor, and I can't wait to meet all of theincoming first years!
As far as personal things, I love to shop, and there's nothing better than a
good sale, especially a shoe sale. I lived in the dorms my first year, so I
have lots of tips for surviving dorm life. Now I live in the Glen-Mor
apartments and am pretty happy there. I am the fundraising officer for
theRiverside Chapter of Music Saves Lives. It is an organization that runs
blood drives and bone marrow registry drives. We offer passes to Warped Tour
and other music-related incentives. (We're always looking for help and are a
great source for your community service hours) I will be working with the new
Chancellor in the fall as a student assistant (one of the many opportunities
that the Honors Program has provided me with!)
My parents say that I have a gift for learning a person's life story in ten
minutes or less. You should introduce yourself because I'd love to get to know
you!
