UHP Peer Mentor: Christie Teruel

Hello, my little pretties! My name is Christie Teruel and I am a second year biochemistry major. I was born and raised in San Diego, and I absolutely LOVE the beach. Some things about me: I’m obsessed with the color green, Polynesian dancing is one of my greatest passions, gummy bears brighten up my life, and subconsciously John Mayer knows that he will marry me. Some of my many plans for the future include going to med school, becoming a Pediatrician, and having a family. I love kids, and in the long run I hope to do clinical work in third world countries.

I’m thrilled to be a peer mentor for this upcoming year, and I’d love to get to know all of you! I’m in the honors office frequently and if you see me don’t be afraid to say hello! You can also contact me at cteru001@student.ucr.edu. I hope you all have a fabulous first year

Looking for Community Service?

A great community service opportunity that I recommend is Conversation Partners at the Learning Center. Not only are the graduate students great to talk to, but it’s also a lot of fun learning about their countries’ history and culture. Another great opportunity is Corazon de Vida. The children at the orphanages are adorable and it’s remarkable to see the difference you make in their lives. The overall experience is absolutely amazing!
