UHP Peer Mentor: Sarah Shelvy

Hey everyone!

I’m Sarah Shelvy, a second year political science major. I’m from Northern California in the San Francisco Bay Area, so I don’t go home every weekend, and I’m not bored! There are plenty of things to do in Riverside, so if you need ideas, let me know. I did theater in high school and love to see shows; I also love photography, summer, ice cream, my family, big cities, and the beach.

I love to be busy. I work for Starbucks, so I tend to drink too much coffee and tea. I take a lot of classes every quarter, intend to graduate at the end of my third year, and go to law school immediately after. Some day I’d like to be the first woman president, so vote for me! I’m a peer educator for REACH (Reaching for Education Affirmation Community and Harmony) which is an amazing program educating fellow students on academic integrity, violence against women, hazing, and topics like that. I love being a part of honors and I think it’s an amazing way to feel a part of a community instead of simply being a part of a sea of college students.

I love meeting new people and sharing fun information, so let me know if you have any questions or if you just want to say hi!
