UHP Peer Mentor: Daniel Polk
Greetings!
My name's Daniel Polk and I'm enjoying my second year as a Peer Mentor (for
Sophomore Honors) and my third year as an undergrad at UCR. I'm a native of
Southern California, coming from the small desert town of Morongo Valley.
Currently my academic interests are focused on Latin American studies, as I'm a
history major with a minor in Spanish. After graduating from UCR, I plan on
attending graduate school to further learn about contemporary Latin American
development and politics. When I'm not studying, I take advantage of the many
extra-curricular opportunities available on campus. I'm a member of the
Dancesport Team of UCR, as well as VEG-U, MAPA and Sustainable UCR.
Looking for Community Service?
For community service, Corazon de Vida is a great opportunity to be active to
our international community. Groups of volunteers take one Saturday out of the
month to visit an orphanage in Tijuana. It's fun, interesting and a great way to
make a difference in a few children's lives. Find out more at
www.corazondevida.org!
