The Chapters are the basic units of Phi Beta Kappa that uphold standards on
270 college campuses where they elect and initiate new members to the Society.
After graduation, members may join an association in areas where such groups
exist. Nationwide there are about 60 active associations and their aims are to
promote friendship and learning, offer stimulating social and cultural programs,
and serve the community.
The chapters and associations are geographically grouped into seven districts
and the districts have officers and a Senate.
