Best
Buddies is a community service organization that works to socially integrate
people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for
one-to-one friendships. To create these one-to-one friendships, Best Buddies
matches college volunteers with adults from Project Team, a local transition
school. We also do monthly group events such as dances and holiday parties.
We believe that through the act of stretching their circle of friends and by
becoming people who are relied upon, both our Buddies and volunteers learn
valuable lessons about acceptance, trust, and reliability. Our vibrant club
is a wonderful way to have fun!
